Baby P #2 Bump Watch: 29 Weeks Preggers

29 Weeks

See? I clean up real nice when I put forth the effort ūüėā. A lot of my previous pics have been taken just before bedtime because I always forget to take them. Which explains the no make-up or the ‘messy hair don’t care’ look.

And for a bonus this week, here’s a blooper shot ūü§£…

What is up with Baby P #2 this week?

  • Baby P #2 is the size of an acorn squash, measuring 15.2 inches long and weighing about 2.5 lbs and is expected to double, almost tripling her weight in the next 11 weeks.
  • As more fat is deposited under skin, her wrinkled skin is smoothing out. This white fat is is different from the earlier brown fat she accumulated as a fetus. Brown fat is necessary for body temperature regulation while white fat serves as an energy source.
  • Also, her muscles and lungs are continuing to mature and her head is growing bigger to make from for her developing brain
  • To keep up with her increasing nutritional demands, I will need plenty of protein, vitamin C, folic acid, and iron.

What’s been happening with ME this week?

Weight Gained: your guess is as good as mine! Not even caring about that number at this point.

Workouts: my job is my workout. Seriously.

  • dizziness and lightheadedness – felt like I was gonna pass out on Thursday night after working all day and then shopping till the mall closed
  • headaches
  • Leg cramps – happens when I’m trying to roll over in bed
  • The weight of my belly is making my balance all out of whack. I got on the escalator at work and almost fell backwards with the very little movement it made going up

Food Aversions: I don’t think there were any this week.

Food Cravings:

  • Carne asada burrito
  • Crab legs
  • Pancakes drenched with syrup

Sleep: not a lot of it, but hey, I’m still functioning. Being a working mom of a 2 year old doesn’t give me the luxury of going to bed early or sleeping in till at least 7. I’m looking forward to going on maternity leave so I can get some rest.

Any Baby/Pregnancy-Related Purchases? None yet. Been busy nesting and getting the home ready for Baby #2. Decluttering, rearranging furniture and rooms, spring cleaning… once I’m on LOA, I need to do baby’s laundry. So much to do!

Stretch Marks: nope.

Miss Anything?: simple things like being able to get up from sitting position without moaning and groaning. Or being able to bend over to pick things up off the floor without feeling like I’m gonna fall over. The belly is ginormous!

Belly Button In or Out? It’s been out.

Wedding Rings On or Off? Still on!!!

Happy or Moody Most Of The Time? Happy! Considering the heat and lack of sleep, I think I’m doing just fine.

Any Movement? Yes and they are starting to really hurt! Some tickle. But as she runs out room, her jabs and kicks are just hard.

Fun and/or Interesting Things from the Week? We had our maternity session on Friday the 14th out in San Dimas. Same photographer we’ve used in the past. Totally new location for us.  We won’t see the proofs for at least a week, which is fine, I’m in no hurry to order prints just yet. But we had a good time. I was hoping to get some behind the scenes pics of the session but things were different this time around with a toddler to chase down in between shots.

Here is my monster before we left for the shoot…

Here she is towards the end of the shoot… “patiently” waiting for mom to finish getting in some solo shots to end the session. Monster was already over the whole thing… she even stripped the bow out of her hair.

And then here is my monster waiting for her dinner at The Melt.

It was a pretty eventful day for all of us. Fun but exhausting!

Looking Forward To? Seeing the digital proofs of our photos! Can’t wait to share those with you as well!

37 Weeks

Home stretch baby!!!¬†We’ve reached the 37 week mark! Which means, Baby P can come any day now! I’m hoping she decides to stay in the belly till her due date, but if she wants to come early, then that’s completely fine, too! Everyone is anxious to meet her and so are we. So this could potentially be one of the last¬†pregnancy posts¬†from yours truly… well, until Baby #2 ūüėČ

37 weeks 002
37 weeks

What Baby P’s Been Up To This Week…

  • Baby P weighs 6 1/3 lbs and measures a bit over 19 inches head to heel…about the size of a of a bunch of Swiss chard.
  • She may also be born with a full head of hair
  • Her lungs and brain are continuing to mature in these last couple of weeks

What I’ve Been Up To This Week…

Weight Gained:¬†hopefully not too much! Being on maternity leave, in this heat, has made me lazy. Work kept me super active. All I’ve done at home is clean and watch shows on Netflix.

Workouts: Walks around the neighborhood with the pups. When it cools down in the evenings, the hubs and I take them out for a nice stroll.

  • Mild headaches – I’m blaming it all on Southern California’s heat. Triple digit heat is just not the greatest weather conditions to endure during pregnancy.
  • Nosebleed – again, I blame the heat as well as being pregnant.
  • Dizziness – I always have dizzy spells when the weather heats up. Don’t know why but I do. And I’m blaming pregnancy too.
  • Aches and pains in the back, legs, lower abs and groin area. Doing chores and just being on my feet for short amounts of time just¬†kills¬†me.
  • Fatigue
  • Occasional Braxton Hicks? Honestly don’t know if that’s what I feel but sometimes when I stand up from sitting for awhile, there’s tightness and pain in the lower ab area and I’m just guessing that’s what it is. *shrug*
  • Slight nausea after eating…not to mention, taste buds are out of whack. What I mean by that is… EVERYTHING I eat leaves a¬†weird¬†taste in my mouth.
  • Mild swelling in feet and ankles.
  • Vaginal discharge
  • Extreme laziness and exhaustion!!!!
  • Frequent potty breaks!!!

Food Aversions: None

Food cravings: Watermelon!!!

Sleep:¬†Definitely starting to get uncomfortable. The belly is just¬†heavy.¬†And having to lay on my side… the weight of the belly makes it feel like it’s about to fall off! Once I find a comfy position, I have no problem falling asleep. But I’m still getting up 2-3 times a night to use the potty, and getting in and out of bed is quite challenging.

Any Baby/Pregnancy Related Purchases? No, but continuing to receive gifts for Baby P! Gift cards, of course. And received a gift from a friend in Hawaii. It’s a car seat cover/canopy set from Car seat Canopy… And I cannot wait to use it!

car seat canopy

Stretch Marks? And with less than 3 weeks left to go, I think I see stretch marks. Which I’m depressed about. They’re red right now…and it’s hard to really tell if they are really stretch marks. I guess lathering it up with lotions and oils every day didn’t help me at all…and as vain as I sound right now, I’ll eventually get over it and accept it. And that doesn’t mean I love Baby P less or hate being pregnant…so for those of you reading this who are criticizing and judging me right now, just don’t. I’m sure I will wear these marks as a badge of honor but for now, just let me sulk. Watching my body change and transition has been both amazing and yet difficult at times. And that’s all I’m going to say about that.

Miss Anything? With Baby P nearing her due date, I am already missing the thought and idea of her being in my belly. Feeling her movements first thing in the morning, all throughout the day, and the last thing before I sleep at night… I’m going to miss that. I love her and can’t wait to meet her…but the time spent being pregnant with my baby girl will be missed.

Belly Button In or Out? Out!

Wedding Rings On or Off? I haven’t put them on since that one day… My hands aren’t swollen but I don’t want to take the chance of having my rings get stuck on my finger.

Happy or Moody Most of the Time? Happy! And just irritable because of the heat.

Any Movements? She is active all the time! I love watching her movements. Makes me smile.

Looking Forward To?¬†The next doc appointment… to see Baby P and find out if we are progressing nicely! Hubby and I have been counting down!

36 Weeks

36 weeks pregnant and totally in nesting mode!!! Officially went on maternity leave June 11th. Been trying to get everything in order in our tiny little space… sorting Baby P’s clothes and just organizing and getting everything ready for her arrival. All the while, she continues to bake inside my ever growing belly.

And this is me, looking absolutely exhausted and just¬†homely¬†in loungewear…

36 Weeks

Gotta love it.

What Has Baby P Been Up To This Week?¬†At my 36 week check up, Doctor said Baby P is healthy and right on target! She is already head down and in position for whenever she’s ready to come. That’s exciting news, no doubt… but I can’t help but feel a little nervous, too!!!

  • Baby P is still packing on the pounds (about an ounce a day) and is now almost 6 lbs and more than 18.5 inches long – about the size of a head of romaine lettuce.
  • She is shedding most of the downy hair that covers her body as well as the vernix caseosa – the waxy substance that protects the skin during its nine-month bath in amniotic fluid.
  • Baby P swallows this stuff, along with other secretions, which forms a tar-like black substance called meconium, which Baby P will pass in her first bowel movements.
  • At the end of this week, she will be considered “early term.” Full term is 39-40 weeks. And she is most likely in head-down position.

What’s Been Happening With ME This Week?

Weight Gained:¬†Up another 4 pounds. Whew. Thought I was gonna be up another 10 lbs the way I’ve been eating!!! That brings us to a total of approximately 30 lbs gained so far (from my last pre-pregnancy weight check). I’m ON TARGET so I’ll take it!!!

Workouts: Lots and lots and lots of walking!!! And even that gets painful after only a few minutes of it.

  • Flintstone feet! Chubby toes and swollen feet… gotta love the last stages of pregnancy combined with this horrible SoCal heat!!!!
  • Aches in the groin area! Yup… that, too, comes with the territory!
  • And because of the aches in that very sensitive area, I’m officially waddling¬†everywhere!¬†Even getting out of bed is difficult.
  • Baby has definitely dropped. How do I know? I can now breathe a lil easier (yay!). But the sucky part is? She’s lower in the lady part region so a lot of her movements¬†hurt.¬†Oh well. Just a little bit longer!!!
  • Exhaustion level is about quite the same.
  • Vaginal discharge
  • Pregnancy brain for sure
  • And this is a given: frequent trips to the potty!!! (sarcastic much?)

Food Aversions:¬†Asian Food. Because after I eat it, it throws my taste buds out of whack and everything else I eat afterwards just doesn’t sit well with my belly.

Food Cravings:¬†Nothing in particular. Maybe that whole deal is over? I dunno, we’ll see right?

Sleep: Pretty darn good now that I get to sleep in past 4am!!!! Oh the things we as adults get excited about!

Any Baby/Pregnancy Related Purchases?¬†Oh yes. Quite a few actually. So with all the gift cards we received from the shower, we bought things we didn’t get: receiving blankets, towels, socks, mittens, diaper cloths, and other necessities. And even after all of that, we still have a good amount of gift cards leftover (Baby P is set for awhile!).

And then I had to buy some things for me. Stuff for my hospital bag. A new robe, some pajama bottoms, new slippers, nursing bras, nursing pads, and a bunch of toiletry items (you know, those little bottles they sell for travel so I don’t have lug around my regular bottles of shampoo and stuff).

After all that shopping, I thought we were finally set and ready to go. I figured, now all I have to do is ALL of Baby P’s laundry, pack mine and hubby’s hospital bag, and then clean, clean, CLEAN right? Wrong. When I was done with Baby P’s laundry, I decided to get her infant car seat all cleaned and installed into our car so that we would have one less thing to worry about when the time comes. The car seat given to us by my lil sis-in-law who kept it in really good condition. Except, when I went to clean it and put it together (the harness straps had been disassembled so she could wash the car seat cover before putting it away in storage), I realized that one of the metal pieces that actually holds the strap in place was missing. Go figure. We tried to see if we could order the part online but everyone who ever carries this part is out of stock and would take anywhere from 6 weeks plus to have it delivered. Yeah we ain’t got time for that! So… we went out and bought a brand new infant car seat.

NOW, it is safe to say… we are ready (baby gear-wise) for Baby P!!!!

Stretch Marks:¬†None, nada, zilch! Let’s keep it that way!

Miss Anything:¬†Everything I’ve ever mentioned in any of my prior blog posts

Belly Button In or Out: OUT!

Wedding Rings On or Off:¬†Haven’t tried to put them back on yet.

Happy or Moody Most of the Time:¬†Definitely happy. A little emotional at times. But hey, I’m pregnant and I’m allowed to get emotional.

Any Movements? Yep. She loves to beat me up from the inside!

Fun and/or Interesting Things From The Week? Not that this is baby-related, but it definitely is worth something to mention! While Baby P may not have seen this event take place, she definitely heard every bit of it. She was able to witness, in her own special way, her daddy graduate with honors from college! Such a great accomplishment for him as well as his little growing family. We (both Baby P and I) could not be more proud. So many awesome things happening in our lives, how could I not share it with the world?

Hubs and I pre-graduation ceremony lunch/dinner

Hubby chillin’ on campus before the ceremony

The family congratulating the Twins on a job well done!

And then a post ceremony reception for all the Public Policy Graduates and their families

Looking Forward To: ¬†Relaxing once I’m done with all this cleaning and organizing. Enjoying this little “vacation” before this Baby comes. And, of course, counting down to Baby P’s arrival.

35 Weeks

We’ve made it to 35 weeks! Eeeeek! Baby P will be here in approximately 5 weeks!!!! I sure hope she decides to stay in long enough for me to enjoy a 4-week break from work!

35 weeks

So What Has Baby P Been Up To This Week?

  • With not much room to maneuver now, Baby P is over 18 inches long and weighs about 5 1/4 pounds.
  • She is the size of a honeydew melon!
  • Because she is so snug in my womb, Baby P isn’t likely to be doing dramatic somersaults anymore, but the number of movements I feel should remain about the same.
  • Her kidneys are fully developed now and her liver can process some waste products
  • The basic physical development is now mostly complete – her main job over the next few weeks is to put on weight! (oh dear)

What’s Been Happening With Me This Week?

Weight Gained:¬†Friday June 12th is my 36 week checkup. I’ll know then!

Workouts:¬†Screw it. I didn’t work out at home¬†at all.¬†But you know what? I get enough of a workout at work. I sit at a desk to check email and look at directives maybe 5% of my work day and the rest of it is being out on the sales floor or in our Visual work room working on stuff, so I’d say that’s being pretty active to me.

Symptoms:¬†No new symptoms (thank God)… but these are what I’ve experienced in my 35th week…

  • Exhaustion
  • Pregnancy Brain
  • Frequent potty breaks all day and all night
  • Very little swelling in the feet and ankles
  • Vaginal discharge
  • Aches and pain in the groin area

Food Aversions: None. I love food!

Food Cravings: Just a couple. Pizza and donuts. Of course not together. But I believe National Donut Day happened during this week so all the talk about donuts in the media just made me want one. Or two. Hehe.

Sleep: Still good! Yay!

Any Baby/Pregnancy Related Purchases?¬†Yep. After realizing that Baby P could come as early as 37 weeks, I kinda freaked out because I sure as heck did not feel like we have¬†EVERYTHING¬†we need to accommodate Baby P once she’s here. So on Sunday, hubby and I went down to Babies R Us to purchase our stroller and a co-sleeper bassinet. The stroller we had originally put on our registry was one we thought we truly wanted. But after the baby shower, I started to feel like maybe we didn’t research and compare hard enough. So I spent the entire week researching strollers online – different sites and YouTube. And let me tell you, that was just¬†exhausting¬†to me. I’d go back and forth between 2 or 3. I just wanted to make sure that the stroller fit our lifestyle. I mean, we don’t have big cars so trunk space is limited. We wanted something that was lightweight and versatile. We definitely wanted a stroller that would grow with our family – I mean we plan on having at least one more baby in the next couple of years. Of course we didn’t want to break the bank on this purchase but if we felt it would be a good investment then we were willing to spend a little more on it. Anyway, we spent 2 hours in the store test driving our old choice (the GB Evoq) and then 2-3 others we liked. And at the end of the 2 hours, we finally chose the Baby Jogger City Select stroller. And we couldn’t be happier with our choice.

babyjogger001 babyjogger002

And we can’t forget the co-sleeper bassinet! Baby P won’t be sleeping with us in our bed because our bed isn’t big enough and I just have a feeling my furbaby Tipsy wouldn’t like it very much. But I still want Baby P close enough to me so I can sneak a peek at her while she’s sleeping and also be able to nurse her when she gets hungry through the night. And since our bed is pretty high off the ground, we thought this one would be ideal. It even swivels on its base, so that’ll make it easier for me to get in and out of bed for bathroom trips.

HALO Bassinest Swivel Sleeper

Stretch Marks: With this huge watermelon of a belly that seems to keep growing and growing I am surprised that I am still stretch mark free and I am totally grateful for it!

Miss Anything? Same as everything in the previous posts: Being able to workout hard. Being able to wear whatever I want. All of it.

Belly Button In or Out? An outtie. Definitely.

Wedding Rings On or Off?¬†In my last post I said they came off. Well, the swelling hasn’t been bad this week… my feet were okay. And there were little to no swelling at all in my hands/fingers. But just to be safe, I am keeping the rings off for now.

Happy or Moody Most Of The Time?¬†For the most part, I’m happy. Like on cloud 9 happy. But with the whole thing with the stroller, I definitely had my moments of irritability. Even had a crying fit about it over lunch before we even made it to Babies R Us that day. Yeah, gotta love those pregnancy hormones!

Any Movements? All day every day!

Fun and/or Interesting Things From The Week: Well, it was my last week of work! Woohoo! Maternity Leave started on June 11th for me and June 10th was my last day. My visual team members threw me a mini baby shower and they all chipped in and got me some baby bottles and a sterilizer that were both on our registry.

And a couple of books… 1 to add to Baby P’s growing library…

And then one for hubby and I to enjoy…

But needless to say, I am sooooo glad I’m finally off work. Being on my feet and running around all day just killed me. I had restrictions sure… but even with sitting every hour for 10 minutes on top of my normal breaks weren’t enough for me.

Looking Forward To: Enjoying this time to nest and prep for Baby P! And taking advantage of this pre-baby maternity leave portion to relax and enjoy some me time and some hubby and me time.

33 Weeks

33 Weeks and counting!!!!

What Is Baby P Up To This Week

  • This week Baby P is the size of a pineapple weighing a little over 4 lbs. and has passed the 17-inch mark
  • She is rapidly losing that wrinkled, alien look
  • Her skeleton is hardening. The bones in the skull aren’t fused together, which allows them to move and slightly overlap to make it easier for her to fit through the birth canal. These bones don’t entirely fuse until early adulthood so they can grow as Baby P’s brain and other tissues expand during infancy and childhood.

What’s Been Happening With ME This Week

Weight Gained:¬†Well… we won’t know till I go in for my next prenatal appointment at my 36-week mark. I am almost positive I’ve gained some… how much? I don’t know. I know the belly is growing. I know I’m looking more and more like a chipmunk. And I know I’ve been snacking on sweets a little more than I would like to be… but I don’t have the self-control I once had when it came to junk food.

Workouts:¬†I’m seriously gonna try my hardest to get some strength training in this coming week! I promise! ūüėČ

  • Chubby cheeks!!!! Haha
  • Waddle, waddle, waddle… no more sexy fashion week catwalk for me
  • Aches and pains from the waist¬†down to my toes
  • Um… getting in and out of pants is starting to become a pain…. yes the belly is that big now
  • Constant bathroom trips
  • Tired and sleepy
  • Breathless when walking and talking, walking up and down stairs…
  • Oh! and there were a couple of times at night where I’d get mild leg cramps in my left calf when I’m sleeping. Those are a pain to deal with.

Food Aversions:¬†Let’s just say that this last trimester has been good to me. No food aversions.

Food Cravings:¬†What can I say? I LOVE food. I had a craving for soda a couple of times last week. Hubby thinks my body was just craving sugar. Um… Baby P has been craving lots of sugar lately.

Sleep:¬†Still can’t complain. I wish I could get more sleep, but that’s all my fault. I don’t go to bed as early as I should. But I plan to take advantage of any sleep I can get on the weekends and once I’m on maternity leave.

Any Baby/Pregnancy Related Purchases? No purchases made by me but I did receive an early baby shower gift from my favorite sister in the whole wide world!!!! I totally forgot to put it in my last blog post, since I actually received it in that week. But whatevs. Anyway, here it is! Tada!!!

I’ve always liked JuJuBe and¬†LOVED¬†the one my sister got for her baby shower a couple of years ago or so and when I told her how cute her bag was, she decided to get me one. And I¬†LOVE¬†it!!!

Stretch Marks?¬†Nada on the belly. But some on my buttocks – which I’ve had way before pregnancy so maybe I shouldn’t really count those.

Miss Anything?¬†Yeah… not having limitations! I miss coffee, I miss chocolate… I miss getting to climb up on things at work to get the work done… I¬†miss¬†not having to rely on people to help me complete the simplest task at work.

Belly Button In or Out? Little bit of an outtie. Like the top part of it can be seen through my shirt.

Wedding Rings On or Off? Still on!!! And I really hope I do not get puffy at all.

Happy or Moody Most of the Time?¬†Happy as can be. I love thinking about Baby P. I love the way my husband looks at me and takes cares of me. Totally gonna sound cheesy right now, but life is just flippin’ awesome.

Any Movements?¬†Yup. She’s an active little thing. Sometimes it feels like she never sleeps these days. When I wake up to go to the bathroom, she’s still moving around. Or maybe she moves and stretches a lot while she’s sleeping. Who knows. But I love knowing that she’s in there.

Fun and/or Interesting Things from the Week:¬†Maybe this isn’t quite so fun and interesting… but I think it’s worthy to mention because it me feel¬†good.¬†As you can see, my belly is getting bigger and bigger by the day. And as much as I love my unborn baby to death and I love this entire experience… occasionally I get overwhelmed by how I’m looking these days. Sometimes I don’t¬†feel¬†as cute with this watermelon of a belly. Sometimes I just feel¬†huge.¬†Anyway, the hubs and I went to the mall on Saturday to see if I could find anything new that I thought I’d look cute in for this upcoming weekend’s festivities. We were standing in Starbucks waiting for the hub’s drink… when a random lady, who had just finished ordering her drink, came up to me and said “Aren’t you just the cutest pregnant woman ever! I wish I looked like that when I was pregnant with my kids!” You have¬†no¬†idea¬†how good that made me feel. I smiled from ear to ear and thanked the woman. She totally made my day.

Looking Forward To: Two pretty big events is scheduled to happen in my 34th week. The first: a maternity photo shoot. I get to show off my baby bump for the camera :-). Super exciting right? I’m all about capturing the precious moments in life and I can’t wait!. And the second:¬†Our baby shower!!!! It’ll be on Saturday May, 30th. It’s a pretty big one and probably the only one we’ll have so I’m pretty stoked. I can’t wait to see everyone, hang out with every one, and just celebrate our little bundle of joy. And then I can’t wait to start prepping for Baby P’s arrival – doing her laundry and just getting her stuff ready. Soooo exciting!

32 Weeks

Whoa. 8 more weeks left. I remember when I was only 8 weeks prego and thinking¬†I dunno if I can wait till July.¬†And here we are… 8 weeks left. Wowza. In about 5-8 weeks (maybe longer) I will officially be someone’s mommy. And that thought just makes me smile.

So here we go… 32 week baby bump…

32 weeks 002

Now hold up. I don’t think you know how big the belly has grown…

32 weeks 001

32 weeks

A couple of weeks ago it was a basketball. This week it’s a watermelon ūüėČ

What Is Baby P Up To This Week

  • Baby P is now the size of a jicama!!! (Yeah, go ahead and google it. I know I had to:-P)
  • She weights about 3.75lbs and measures approximately 16.7 inches long, taking up a lot of space in my uterus.
  • I’m gaining about a pound a week and roughly half of it goes right to Baby – in fact, Baby P will gain a third to half of her birth weight during the next 7 weeks as she fattens up for survival outside the womb.
  • Baby P now has toenails, fingernails, and real hair.
  • Her skin is becoming soft and smooth as she plumps up in preparation for birth

What’s Been Happening With Me This Week

Weight Gained:¬†Hoping not more than I’m supposed to. But I have no clue. I don’t keep track at home. I am doing my best to eat as healthy as possible so that I only gain what I need to.

Workouts:¬†No comment. ūüėõ

  • Aches all throughout the body – lower back ache, aches in the ribs, aches in the legs… I never realized all this extra weight would wear me out the way it has.
  • I’m starting to waddle!!!! Yup, especially when I’ve been running around at work all day.
  • Still exhausted. Still get breathless when walking short distances. Still unable to enjoy eating my normal sized meal without feeling like I ate a cow. I’m just a hot mess.
  • Trips to the potty have increased tremendously during the night AND during the day. And if that’s not enough, right after I’m done peeing (TMI but who cares), I feel like I still have to go.

Food Aversions: Not a one.

Food Cravings: Cheetos. Chocolate everything. Watermelon. Pineapple. Any and everything.

Sleep:¬†Pretty good. With the exception of having to get up to pee, I’m sleeping like a baby the rest of time. Laying on my left side wasn’t so great in the beginning but now it’s not so bad. Especially with my body pillow.

Any Baby/Pregnancy Related Purchases? It was only a matter of time before I splurged on Baby P before the baby shower. Another Baby Sale started in my store this week and I just could not stay away from the Baby department.

Too Freaking ADORABLE!!!

Stretch Marks? Nope! And I hope it stays that way!!!

Miss Anything? Eating like a pig and being able to enjoy eating like a pig. Haha.

Belly Button In or Out? No longer an innie. Not exactly an outtie. All you see is the dark spot where my belly button should be. That and the scar from my belly button ring I had years ago.

Wedding Rings On or Off? Still on!!!!

**So I just realized that the next 2 questions were accidentally left out on my last post and I totally didn’t realize it till now.**

Happy or Moody Most of the Time?¬†Definitely HAPPY. Yes I get irritable, but cut me some slack. I’m only human. But I wouldn’t trade this experience for the world. I look forward to seeing my baby girl.

Any Movements?¬†She never stops! No, wait, I take that back. She moves all throughout the day. Morning, noon, on my drive home (especially on my drive home), all the way up until it’s time to count kicks before my bedtime. And then she’ll stop. It’s like she’s laughing at me from the inside. Already playing jokes on her mama. For the most part, she cooperates. But I guess my hot shower puts her right to sleep.

Looking Forward To: Enjoying every bit of the last 8 weeks. Baby shower. Shopping. Going on maternity leave. Feeling her every move. Nesting. ALL of it.

31 Weeks

Previous Pregnancy Updates:

Which brings us to the completion of my 31 weeks of pregnancy ūüôā The time is just whizzing by and I’m just hanging in there! I’m nervous and anxious to meet my little one… enjoying the pregnancy and putting up with the annoyances of being uncomfortable in this last trimester. Everyone said I’ll be wanting this baby out as I get closer to my due date, that by the time I have to deliver Baby P, I won’t be thinking about the pain of labor and all the scary stuff that comes with it.

Anyway, here I am at 31 weeks! It seems the belly has grown quite a bit since my last update pic…

31 weeks

31 weeks (2)

…And that belly will just get bigger and bigger as it gets closer to my due date.

What Is Baby P Up To This Week?

  • Baby P is about the size of a coconut, weighs approximately 3.3 lbs and measures over 16 inches long…and is heading into a growth spurt (Um, I think she already did!)
  • She can turn her head from side to side, and her arms, legs, and body are beginning to plump out as needed fat accumulates underneath the skin.
  • Her kicks and somersaults may be keeping me up all night – but that just means Baby P is active and healthy!
  • Baby’s brain connections are developing, too! She is now processing information, tracking light, and perceiving signals from all 5 sense.
  • She’s also putting in longer stretches of sleep – with noticeable patterns of wakefulness and rest.

What’s Been Happening With Me This Week?

Weight Gained:¬†So I had my doctor appointment at the very end of the 31 week mark. According to their scale, I’ve gained about 4 lbs since my last visit. So we’re lookin’ at 26 lbs total gained so far. And I’m right on track! Yay!

Workouts:¬†I have failed miserably at this once again. No strength training. At. All. But, lots of and lots of walking still. At work. Life of a retail manager means busy, busy, busy. I’m hoping to see if I can get¬†some¬†strength training in from now till Baby P arrives to help with endurance since I will need it for ¬†labor and delivery!

  • lower back pain (still)
  • extreme exhaustion
  • I get totally winded walking short distances and have to stop to catch my breath. Even walking and talking takes a lot out of me.
  • Baby P continues to hang out in my right rib and it gets pretty uncomfortable when driving home from work
  • Frequent trips to the potty day¬†and¬†night
  • Feeling hungry all the time but unable to eat my normal portions of food because duh, there is no room in this belly

Food Aversions:¬†None. Perhaps that phase of pregnancy is over. I dunno. We’ll see.

Food Cravings:¬†Any and everything coffee and chocolate! Haha. Okay so a couple of days last week, we had some chilly temps roll through SoCal and I craved some pho. Just soup in general. Only thing is, I couldn’t have any. By choice. Soup would just make me feel full and miserable. So that kinda sucked. But I got over it real quick when the temperatures got hot again.

Sleep:¬†Surprisingly enough… pretty comfortable sleep. Not enough sleep though. And that’s because I don’t go to bed early enough. So I’m averaging 6 hours of sleep a night during the weeks. And even with the frequent bathroom trips, I’m still able to go right back to sleep and just¬†knock out¬†till the next potty trip or when i have to get up for work. So yeah… no complaints here.

Any Baby/Pregnancy Related Purchases?¬†No, but that could all change soon coz I’m itchin’ to buy some clothes for Baby P. I’ve been seeing some cute clothes….

Stretch Marks?¬†Thankfully enough, nada! Since I’ve stopped using cocoa butter, I’ve just been using my regular lotion and then after taking my shower at night, I’d rub my belly with Extra Virgin Olive Oil to keep my skin moist and prevent dry skin. The only spots that itch, if ever, is my belly button. And whenever that happens, i just rub some lotion on the area and it kinda helps.

Miss Anything?¬†I miss my normal unpregnant body. Don’t get me wrong… that doesn’t mean I don’t like being pregnant! I know some of you will take that comment in a negative way. But the idea of having limitations and restrictions, especially at work… where I’m used to being Superwoman… it’s kinda hard to deal with. I love being pregnant with Baby P. But I really do miss being able to just walk up the stairs without feeling like I’m going to pass out. And I am pretty sure once Baby P is here… I will say “I miss being pregnant and I miss my pregnant belly”. But for now…that is my answer.

Belly Button In or Out? It is no longer an innie.

Looking Forward To:¬†The weekend. We have a baby shower to go to for a good friend who is due in the beginning of June…not long before me! So it’ll be nice to celebrate and spoil her little girl and be able to grub on some good food! ūüôā And dessert. Looking forward to some cake. Mmmmmm.
